Back and forth they went all game long, trading shots. In the end the Lady Buffs drop a thriller in overtime 3-2.

Midwestern struck first with a goal mid-way through the 1st half. Lady Buffs the answered with a score from Marlene van Mourik with less than 4 minutes remaining in the half. Khadidra Debesette gave WT an early 2nd half lead with a score. MSU answered eight minutes later to tie it at 2-2 then scored the game winner off a penalty kick due to a called hand ball which sealed the victory for the visiting Mustangs.

“It stings a lot right now,” head coach Chad Webb said. “We just got to let that take its course. But we just got to show up for training tomorrow, treat it like any other week and try to get ready for whoever we play next Friday.”

Despite the loss, the Lady Buffs still earned a share of the Lone Star Conference title due to Texas Women’s falling to Angelo State 1-0. This is the 7th LSC title in the program’s history. “We’re extremely proud of everything they’ve done this year.” Webb said. “We’re the Lone Star Conference Champions they’ve won 11 games and I’m extremely proud of them.”

The Lady Buffs will play the winner of the 3/6 game in the Lone Star Conference tournament on Friday, November 4th at 5 p.m. in Commerce, Texas.
