The WTAMU men’s and women’s cross country teams opened the 2010 season Sept. 17 at the Texas Tech Invitational.
The Lady Buffs finished fifth overall in the team standings. Sophomores Jessica Blakely and Aries Bazaldua finished in 18th and 21st place respectively. Freshman Amber Moore finished 32nd place followed by sophomores Brieana Garciaand Allison Medina in 50th and 61st place respectively.
The Buffs finished in a tie for sixth overall with Northwood in the team standings.
Freshman Luke Irwin led the way by finishing 16th place followed by senior Thomas Harris who clocked in at 20th place. Freshman Jadon Rankins and Junior Andrew Striley finished back to back in 47th and 48th place respectively.
Sophomore Michael Janousek rounded it out with a 75th place finish.
Both the Buffs and Lady Buffs compete next on Sept. 25th at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla.
