Earth Day is one of the most recognized environmental movements on the planet. It began on April 22, 1970, and has been moving ever since. WTAMU’s science clubs and local Amarillo and Canyon organizations are teaming up to host an Earth Day Fair on April 20. The fair will help educate the public about the earth and how to help the environment.
Nintendo is seeking to revolutionize the portable gaming industry again with the 3DS, a portable handheld console that will allow players to experience their games in 3D.
On April 11, the university hosted a volunteer expo where students could get involved in the community. Programs such as Family Support Services of Amarillo, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Texas Panhandle, CareNet and Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains had booths where information about volunteer opportunities could be found.
On April 1, more than 2,600 FFA (Future Farmers of America) students came to WTAMU to compete in the WTAMU Career Development Events. This invitational was an opportunity for the students to prepare for state competition.
