They say that going to college far from home will be one of the best experience of your life, but who ever said that obviously had never been abroad. Most universities and colleges offer programs where students can go and study in a different country.

For those who aren’t familiar with it, West Texas A&M University does have a study abroad program where students can go and study some where else, there are programs that WT offers that are faculty lead and are as short as 2 weeks and programs where students can leave for a semester. Studying abroad is one of those opportunities that students should always take advantage of no matter what. Some of the things that get in the way when it comes to going aboard is the money, but honestly that shouldn’t be the reason that’s keeping you from experience some of the best moments of your life.

As crazy as it sounds, it’s not an exaggeration. Having the opportunity to leave the states will help you see the world around you in a different way. Some of the things that make it so great is the following things The Prairie News staff had is:

–       It’s great way to make new friends

–       You’re exposed to a world that is completely different then yours

–       It makes you more culturally diverse

–       You’re bite with a bug—The travel bug, and you will want to travel more

–       You’ve exposed to cultural shock—And that’s a good thing
