People are always wondering what they should wear and are constantly trying to keep up with the latest trends to be able to fit in in today’s society. We look at celebrities and models for inspiration but usually end up being disappointed when we can’t get the same results. There are times when the latest talk is about what to wear and what not to wear, which can become difficult to keep up with. With that in mind, here are a few tips to remember that might be able to help you with your own personal style.

10. Find basic pieces that can be mixed & matched with basically anything. Things that can be dressed up or down by adding accessories.

  1. Look for inspiration in past eras and other people, but don’t copy. Give everything your own twist.

  1. Hair and makeup can change everything so don’t focus just on clothes. You can turn a girly look into an edgy look just by changing your hair and makeup.

  1. Accessorize! Like mentioned in the 10th tip, accessories can transform an outfit just like hair and makeup. Don’t go overboard but add a purse or necklace to make it just right.
  2. Don’t focus on the price of the things you buy. When you shop, buy what2

you like and save money when you can.

  1. Less is sometimes more. Having some patterns and bright colors can be fun but there are times when a simple black dress is perfect for the occasion. This also applies to hair, makeup, and accessories.

  1. “Perfect” is boring. More than likely, we will not be able to look the same as the models we see in magazines so don’t worry if there are things that didn’t come out the way you would have liked. Have confidence and rock it anyway!
  1. Don’t be scared to try new things and explore all the different looks there are. If you end up not liking a certain style, all you have to do is not wear it anything. It doesn’t hurt to give it a try at least once.
  1. Find your own personal style. Inspiration is great to look for but make everything into your own style in some way.
  1. Do what makes you happy & comfortable. If it makes you feel confident, wear it. If it makes you feel like someone you’re not, find what does make you feel like yourself. You don’t have to go by anybody’s rules but your own. If someone doesn’t like your style, oh well. It’s your life, not theirs.

Style is really all about what you as an individual love. There is no need to feel pressured into wearing something you don’t like just because it is what everyone else is doing. If you like what others are doing with their style, go for it but if you don’t make your own style shine. Just like many other things, confidence is key so never settle until you find those things that make you confident about yourself.
