WTAMU hosts MLK speech reenactment

Julian Reese portrayed Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while reenacting his famous “I Have a Dream” speech.
Advisor for the Black Women’s Association, Deetress Peoples sold t-shirts and masks.
L-R: senior Aubrey Mead, junior Mia Davis and junior Ustina Guirguis found the speech to be compelling.
Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Angela Allen spoke to the audience before the speech.
Officer for the WTAMU Black Student Union, Aurora Garcia Comer introduced the speaker.
Social distancing was enforced during the event and students are able to join through livestream.
Reese reenacted the “I Have a Dream” speech from beginning to end.
On Tuesday Jan. 19, 2021 The Office of Diversity and Inclusion hosted an event in which, head coach for the Amarillo Venom football team, Julian Reese portrayed Martin Luther King Jr.. Reese reenacted Dr. King’s “I Have A Dream” speech in Legacy Hall for students, staff, and faculty.
