Bowling Lanes at the Virgil Henson Activities Center offers students and the community of Canyon an eight-lane bowling alley.

The facility can accommodate anyone from beginners to experts to play a game of bowling with friends or family.

“I like the atmosphere of the Bowling Lanes, and I think it’s a safe way for students to have a good time on the weekend,” said Anna Cencienos, a student worker at the Bowling Lanes.

Cencienos said Bowling Lanes will have events during the semester where students can come and play for free and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided for them. The AC is hoping these events will attract more students to come play.

“I’ve never been to the bowling alley in the AC because I haven’t really had time, and I also don’t really notice that it’s there,” said Mariah Rome, a freshman Elementary Education major.

“I saw that the AC had the bowling alley when I toured WT my senior year of high school, but I’ve never gone back after that,” said Aaron Castanon, a sophomore Special Education major.

Castanon and Rome said they would both go to events Bowling Lanes hosts if word about them got around more often throughout campus.

Bowling Lanes is open on Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It is $2.00 per game for WT students to play and $3.00 for community members, and there is a $1.00 fee for shoe rentals for everyone.
