Stop the Pumpkin Spice Madness

The Prairie Editorial Staff

Fall is approaching and many of us are ready to put away those sandals and get ready for some cozy boots. When we think of the fall season, we think of many things like  colorful leaves, warm clothes, Halloween, and even homecoming, but one thing we aren’t ever prepared for is for the unreasonable amount of love pumpkin spice gets.

Here at The Prairie, we always have the same discussion around this time of year, and we strongly believe that making everything pumpkin spice flavor is a little to much. Yes, pumpkin spice lattes and pumpkin pies are a must, but when it comes to pumpkin spice bagels, pumpkin spice body lotions, pumpkin spice candles, and pumpkin spice dog treats, that’s where the line has been drawn. It might sound a little overboard since it’s only around for the fall, but there is so much more to look forward to in the fall rather than having everything taste like pumpkin.

A fall list that’s way better than pumpkin spice:

– Going to a football game

-Jumping on a pile of leaves

-Making a Halloween costume

– Shopping for sweaters

– Drinking hot chocolate

-Starting a bonfire

-Visiting a haunted house

-Watching a scary movie

-Throwing a Halloween party

– Visiting a corn maze

-Baking sweets
