Buffs Fall to Commerce
October 30, 2016
It was a rough game for the West Texas A&M Buffaloes (5-4, 4-3) as they fell to #8 Texas A&M Commerce ( 7-1, 6-1) 36-0. The Buffs gave up 27 points off of 6 turnovers.
The Buffs were shutout for the first time since 2002. Commerce was able to jump out to a 19-0 halftime lead after three first half turnovers from the Buffs.
The second half wouldn’t prove to be any better as the Buffs would give up two pick sixes to put the nail in their coffin.
Offensively the Buffs couldn’t get any consistency, besides the 6 turnovers, they went 2 for 13 on third down conversions, and picked up 12 first downs for the game.
The defense played well considering how much time they spent on the field. They didn’t allow Commerce to score an offensive touchdown in the second half.
The Buffs return to Kimbrough Memorial Stadium next Saturday for their final home game of the season against Angelo State( 3-6, 2-5). It will also be Senior day for the team which will be the final home game for 12 seniors on the team.
