Canyon, TX- Join students in the Communication Studies Dept.from West Texas A&M at the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum on Saturday November 14th from 11am to 1pm for an opportunity to learn more about the legends from our area.  This is the fifth annual Artifacts “COMM” Alive hosted at the museum as part of a joint learning class between students and the museum’s artifacts.

You will hear stories ranging from cowboy ingenuity to oil tycoon art philanthropists.  Can you guess which American scout and bison hunter is a US Medal of Honor recipient?  Surprising to many is that world renowned artists have taught at WT and their works grace the walls of the PPHM.  Please come and be entertained with stories and facts about the featured legends:  Charles Goodnight, Georgia O’Keeffe, HaroldBugbee; Billy Dixon, Ben Carlton Mead and Sybil and Don Harrington.  The names are familiar because these area legendnever die.

Masks required and social distancing requirements will be enforced. This event is free with regular museum admission and open to the public. For more information contact Paula Schlegel.
