Finding your way forward at Northwest Texas Healthcare System® Behavioral Health
The college years can be incredibly stressful and challenging. Many students struggle to make friends, fit in and find their way forward. The COVID-19 pandemic has deepened those challenges, while also placing additional burdens on behavioral health staff in higher education institutions trying to meet students’ needs.
In these moments, it can be hard to know where to turn. Northwest Texas Healthcare System® Behavioral Health can help.
How We Can Help
If needed, our services and programs offer additional support for college students. Our Outpatient Program can treat conditions ranging from
- Anxiety
- Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)
- Bipolar Personality
- Depression
- Substance Use
- Trauma
There is a minimum of three, one-hour group therapy sessions per week. A licensed clinician will help you determine your treatment goals and review them with you on a periodic basis. Therapy topics include relapse prevention, recovery skills, peer support, emotional processing, activity therapy and expressive therapies. A group setting allows you to learn and gain support from others. Individual therapy is also provided, and family therapy is highly encouraged.
Substance Use Treatment Services
Taking drugs (both legal and illegal) or substances in ways that are not intended can lead to a variety of problems for your health, relationships and responsibilities. Left unchecked, it may even lead to addiction.
What You Can Expect
- To feel safe and respected
- To develop goals and be provided with active, customized and multidisciplinary treatment including medication management and resources as needed to foster a lasting recovery
- To receive evidence-based therapies (individual, group and/or family and other therapies) in a structured, therapeutic environment
- To learn new and improved coping skills
- To develop a new sense of understanding about your substance use disorder and/or mental health needs
