The Catholic Student Center at West Texas A&M University gives Catholic Buffs a place to worship together. The CSC is located near campus at 2610 4th Ave.

“My experience at the Catholic Student Center has included meeting the most devout role models and friends that are always there for me no matter what. It has also given me a chance to develop tight bonds with students who are Catholic in order to keep me strong in my faith,” Kristin Leal, a senior Special Education major, said.

While in college there are many events happening daily. With a busy schedule, Erika Rivera, a junior Early Childhood Education major, turns to the CSC for a home.

“I try to go to confession and attend mass as much as I can and just try to make time in my busy schedule for God. Without God’s will I would not be able to do the things I do,” Rivera said.

This past month Leal, Rivera, and Vivian Saenz traveled to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to see Pope Francis. Rivera said she is grateful to have had the opportunity of a lifetime , traveling with friends who share the same beliefs she does and seeing something amazing.

The CSC’s office is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The building is open for student use from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mass times during school are on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. and on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

“God is our foundation, we can’t build a life without Him,” Vivian Saenz, a junior Health Science major, said.
