Greenlighting started on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025. WT has started a process to help students ease the experience of registering for their classes. Going to college can be a hard experience, but WT Advising is trying to make the process of coming to school so much easier.
The process of greenlighting allows the students to register for classes. It also informs the students on which classes are the best for specific majors and interests. This alleviates the stress of having to pick out classes alone.
Who does this apply to? For freshmen, they need to meet with advisors and are required to have frequent check-ins to ensure they are on track to receive their degree. Transfer students have a slightly different process. First they need to communicate a transfer timeline to advisors. Secondly, they need to provide their most recent transcript. Returning students are required to complete the advising process through their online student portal. In the case of updating a degree plan, Advising Services encourages students to schedule an appointment with an advisor.
Because greenlighting needs to be done before registration, be sure to reach out to your advisor to get it done. To contact Advising Services in the Classroom Center in room 110. Email them at [email protected] or you can call them at 806-651-5300.
