The U.S. government will be issuing new one-hundred dollar notes on Oct. 8. The new notes still feature Benjamin Franklin and Independence Hall but now include new security features. Color shifting ink, a 3-D security ribbon, and raised printing will be joining the already existing security thread and poirtrait watermark on the upcoming bills.
Previous iterations of the note will remain legal tender and the consumer need not trade their older bills for the new. Additional information on the notes can be found on the official website of the launch: www.newmoney.gov.
