Morgan Smith, senior broadcast journalism major, works as the Marketing Specialist for Barbwire Inc. with her mother, Barbara Sconyers, founder and president of the company providing SEO services. The two have embarked on a new creative endeavor-selling their product out of a trunk in the trunk of a car.

Many brands and businesses know (or think they know) that they need SEO for their digital properties, and the benefits they will get from that SEO work being implemented on their behalf. Google, being the most visited website in the world (as well as specifically in the United States), also happens to be the most popular email provider in the world (with more than 1 billion users). Not to mention YouTube is the second biggest search engine.

Being highly visible as a trusted resource by Google and other search engines is always going to work in a brand’s favor. Quality SEO and a high-quality website takes brands there.

Smith will be on campus throughout the week from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. displaying their product in front of Mary Moody Northen Hall to bring their product to the consumer and make their business known.

“I decided to use WTAMU as my platform because I’m there 90 percent of the time,” Smith said. “I’m constantly in contact with other students, so I figured why not make them my target market.”

Sconyers created the idea for the company in 2012. They sell products like sun dresses, bohemian styled dresses, silver beaded sandals, pumps, tweed skirts and clutches.
