WTAMU’s College of Business organization Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) is sponsoring the Moses Business Plan Competition.

“SIFE is all about students applying the positive power of business in ways that help our community,” said SIFE Co-President Laura Beth Hallman, a graduate student studying Finance and Economics.

The Moses Business Plan Competition is for any WT student with a business idea. Students will be working on their ideas and turning them into a business opportunity.

“Business ideas come from something that you are passionate about. Everyone should have the opportunity to share their passion through the entrepreneurial spirit,” said Erin Stodghill, a senior Management major.

Each student is required to attend a presentation of each session. There will be two sessions each week. After they attend the two sessions, a hard copy of the business plan will be due to the office of the Dean of the College of Business by 3 p.m. Nov. 21.

“The Moses Business Plan Competition is very valuable because it allows me to get first hand coaching from David Terry, who runs the W T enterprise Center,” said Trent Trahern, a Finance and Economics graduate student. “Many people have business ideas, but these people do not know how to present their idea on paper for other people to understand them.” In addition, people are missing out a lot because they still don’t know what niche market is and how it can propel their business.

After all the entries are submitted, there will be a first, second and third place winner. The first place winner will receive $1,000, the second place winner $300 and the third place winner $100.
