The WTAMU Buffalo basketball team traveled to Lawton, Oklahoma on Feb. 9 to take on the Cameron Aggies. After taking a 33-30 lead into the half, the Buffs fell 62-73 after being outscored 29-43 in the second half for their second straight Lone Star Conference loss.

Cameron started the game by taking an early 13-19 lead with 9:29 remaining in the first half. WT would answer by outscoring the Aggies 20-11 for the rest of the half to take a 33-30 lead into the locker room at the half.

Senior Kennon Washington led the Buffs offense with nine points. Sophomore Tez Dumars had seven points at the break for WT. The Buffs shot 14 for 32 for 44 percent from the field, two of seven for 29 percent from three-point range and three of four for 75 percent from the free throw line.

Cameron came out and outscored WT 8-12 to take a 41-42 lead that they would never relinquish, with 14:01 to go in the game. The Aggies would go on a 19-7 run from there to give them a 48-61 advantage. Cameron would never have a lead lower than 13 points from that point in the game.

Washington finished with 18 points for the Buffs and Dumars had 14 points. Redshirt senior Mason White was the third Buff in double-digits with 11 points. WT shot 20 of 59 for 34 percent from the field in the game, six of 23 for 29 percent from downtown and 16 of 24 for 67 percent from the charity stripe.

The Buffs now stand at 14-8 overall and 6-8 in LSC play, including two consecutive losses. WT will attempt to rebound on Feb. 21 against Incarnate Word in Canyon with tip set for 8 p.m.
