The Office of Student Engagement and Leadership (O.S.E.L.) works to help all WT student organizations. One of the people working to help make student groups successful is associate director of the O.S.E.L., Elosia Reyna.

Reyna is relatively new to her job at O.S.E.L., having only been there a couple of months. As associate director, Reyna is responsible for coordinating events with Greek Life and all of the other student organizations.

Reyna is in her fourteenth year at West Texas A&M. For the majority of those years she has worked for Rec Sports. In June she relocated to the O.S.E.L. as associate director.

She said she enjoyed working for Rec Sports, but Reyna prefers more student interaction. She saw the open position as an opportunity to perhaps get a different relationship with WT students.

“Rec Sports was more of an employee/employer type relationship and here it’s totally different,” Reyna said. “I enjoy working with the students in a more relaxed and social setting.”

Reyna grew up in Hart, Texas, and eventually went to South Plains College in Levelland, Texas. After two years she transferred to WT and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. She also earned her Masters of Science from WT as well.

One of Reyna’s co-workers is Amanda Kraemer, who is the orientation coordinator of O.S.E.L. She said Reyna has brought changes to the office.

“Elosia is a very organized and task-oriented person,” Kraemer said. “She’s come into her position and she’s completely restructured everything and has made everything so much more efficient.”

Others see the type of contagious attitude Reyna brings when she is at work.

“She always has a positive and up-beat attitude when she comes to work,” said coworker Missy Macon.

Fairly new to student organizations and Greek Life, Reyna realizes it has taken some adjustment.

“That’s been a challenge,” Reyna said. “But I really enjoy challenges.”
