The WT men’s soccer team made the long trip to Wichita, Kansas to play the Newman University Jets Friday night.
They came away with a hard fought 2-0 victory.
Dominic Furness would get the scoring started in the 14th minute, when he converted a pass from Alfredo Chavez into the right-side of the net making the score 1-0.
The Jets outshot the Buffs 6-4 in the first half but were unable to score, keeping it 1-0 at halftime in favor of the Buffs.
Furness got his second goal of the match in the 57th minute, converting a corner kick from Chavez, increasing the lead to 2-0.
Sebastian Furness made seven saves during the match, bringing his overall record to 3-3 on the season.
The Buffs will return to Lone Star Conference play Sunday when they play Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
