The WT men’s soccer team got back on the winning track Oct. 8 in Odessa as they shutout the UT-Permian Basin Falcons 4-0.
Ben Everson got the scoring started in the 31 minute when he took on the entire Falcon defense before slotting home his shot into the right corner of the net to give the Buffs a 1-0 lead.
There would be no more scoring in the first half, but in the second half the Buffs’ offense exploded.
Leading scorer Martin Fuentes tapped home a pass from TJ Eaton in the 50 minute to make it 2-0.
Fuentes then scored his seventh goal of the season in the 58 minute off of a deflection.
Everson finished the game off in the 80 minute when his shot found the top left corner of the net.
Sebastian Furness picked up the win in goal for the Buffs bringing his record to 6-4 on the season.
WT will now travel to Wichita Falls to take on #3 ranked Midwestern State on Oct. 10.
