The Lady Buff volleyball team responded with great intensity Oct. 7, after dropping out of the top 25 poll for the first time since 2006 earlier this week.
WT not only swept Cameron 3-0, which snapped a three game losing streak, but also gave Coach Jason Skoch his 50th win in charge of the Lady Buffs.
Sophomore Erin Dougherty had a career night hitting .800 for the match and tallying 17 kills on the night. Dougherty’s hitting percentage is tied for the ninth-highest in a single match in school history.
The Lady Aggies struggled all night to keep up with the Lady Buffs fast paced style as they hit just .021 for the match as a team including a -.056 hitting percentage in the 2nd match.
Senior Lauren Thedford recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 10 kills and 14 digs. Junior Erika Dupree led the Lady Buffs with 28 assists on the night.
With the win the Lady Buffs extended their LSC winning streak to 71 games. Their overall record stands at 11-7 overall and 5-0 in LSC play.
The Lady Buffs will be back in action at home October 8th when they look for a measure of revenge against Arkansas-Fort Smith, who swept them last week in Missouri. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
