Lady Buffs drop crucial game in Double OT

Lady Buffs drop crucial game in Double OT

The Lady Buffs had to play an extra ten minutes on the hardwood in Stephenville last Wednesday, but it wasn’t enough as the Tarleton State TexAnns handed the Lady Buffs a double overtime loss 75-66.

Jamie Simmons was the anchor for the Lady Buffs scoring a career-high 38 points, over half of the Lady Buffs total of 66. The record-setting night wasn’t enough though as four TexAnns scored in the high double digits.

The Lady Buffs controlled the game during regulation, having a 54-49 advantage in the closing minutes of the second half. Though in overtime, WT only shot 20 percent from the floor compared to the TexAnns’ 62 percent.

The win gives Tarleton State at least a share of the Lone Star Conference South Title and the Lady Buffs can potentially claim the second spot by winning the rest of their games. The Lady Buffs hit the court again Wednesday Feb. 23 against Incarnate Word.
