The WT men’s soccer team came into to Tuesday’s game against UT-Permian Basin on a two-game losing streak.
They ended the streak, defeating UT-Permian Basin 6-1.
In the 15th minute, Dominic Furness slotted home a shot after receiving a pass from John Cox making the score 1-0.
Just six minutes later Colin Bjostad scored a headed goal off a corner kick from Omar Tena to make the score 2-0.
Tena scored a pair of long range goals in the 25th and 33rd minutes. The Buffs led 4-0 at halftime.
Just one minute into the second half, Furness passed to Ben Everson to extend the lead to 5-0.
Abel Olivas scored a headed goal in the 51st minute to make the score 6-0 Buffs.
UTPB’s Tyler Gibson scored in one goal in the 61st minute of the game bringing the final score to 6-1 Buffs.
Sebastian Furness saved three goals and picked up the victory, bringing his record this season to 2-2.
WT travels to Portales, N.M. Sept. 17 to take on Eastern New Mexico in their LSC conference opener.
