After a heartbreaking loss to the Tarleton State University TexAnns in last weekend’s Lone Star Conference volleyball championship tournament, the Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M University had to wait for an online selection show to find out their playoff fate. The Lady Buffs, two-time defending South Central regional champions, will make their 25th overall appearance in the NCAA Division II Postseason, as announced in the NCAA selection show.
The Lady Buffs are currently ranked number five in the region and will make their debut in the regional tournament Friday at 9:30 p.m. as they battle the numbe four-seeded Rangers from Regis University in Brownson Arena in Grand Junction, Colo.
The region is led by number one seed Colorado Mesa University, number two seed Colorado School of Mines and the number three seed Metro State University. TSU falls behind the Lady Buffs at number six, with University of Arkansas-Fort Smith coming in at number and Angelo State University ranking number eight in the region.
The winner of the South Central Regional Tournament will advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight tournament at Knight’s Hall on Bellarmine University’s campus in Louisville, Ky. on Dec. 4-6.
