The #19 ranked Lady Buff soccer team took on Dallas Baptist Thursday night at The Pitch, the Buffalo Sports Park.
They were able to hold off DBU for a 2-1 victory.
DBU scored first in the 18th minute when Allyson Bales’ shot found the top right corner of the WT goal giving the Lady Patriots a 1-0 lead.
The Lady Buffs tied the game in the 30th minute when Lindsay McHorse fired home a rebound off of DBU goalie Haley Corbell.
WT almost took the lead numerous times before the half, but the crossbar denied the Lady Buffs keeping the score 1-1 at halftime.
WT found the game-winning goal in the 87th minute when McHorse headed home a cross from Melissa Carnero.
Kelly Skehan picked up the victory in goal for the Lady Buffs bringing her overall record to 4-1-1.
The Lady Buffs will play game two of their five game homestand Sept. 26 when they host St. Mary’s with kickoff scheduled for Noon.
