The WT Lady Buffs basketball team clinched their second straight Lonestar Conference regular season championship with a win against Texas Woman’s University, 70-56, on Feb. 22.
The Lady Buffs repeat as nference champions and will be the number one seed going into the conference tournament in Allen, Texas, March 4-7.
The Lady Buffs have won 14 consecutive games, and have only lost one since their opening season loss. They are 23-2 on the season overall, and 14-1 in LSC conference play.
The Lady Buffs also played Tarleton State on Feb. 18 for the pink out game. The Lady Buffs won the game against tough competition in the form of the TexAnns, a team that took the Lady Buffs to overtime last time they met, 76-63.
Chontiquah White has also been named the Division II Bulletin Player of the Month for her outstanding play over the past month. She was also named the LSC Defensive Player of the Week.
The Lady Buffs close out their season with a game against the Eastern New Mexico University Zias on Feb. 28. That game will be played at the FUBC.
