WT swept ENMU, and in the process tied its own record streak of 77 consecutive LSC victories.
The Lady Zias came out strong in the first set, jumping out to a 5-0 lead. It was a back and forth match as both teams struggled to gain the upper hand. A pair of 5-0 runs by the Lady Buffs eventually put away ENMU as WT won 25-19.
The Lady Buffs kept up the momentum in the second set as an 11-4 run helped spark WT to a 25-17 triumph.
ENMU didn’t go down without a fight though. In the third set, the Lady Zias made things interesting when they got within two points at 22-20. But, WT proved to be too much as they pulled out a 25-21 third set victory.
Junior Erika Dupree tallied her 15th double-double of the season with a career-high 35 digs and 10 assists. Dupree was also named LSC Setter of the Week Oct. 26. Senior Lauren Thedford posted her 10th double-double of the season with a career-high 17 kills and 13 digs. She also hit a new career-high hitting percentage at .552.
Freshman Ashley Davis recorded nine kills and tallied a hitting percentage of .292. As a team the Lady Buffs hit .288 on the night compared to ENMU’s hitting percentage of .188.
The Lady Buffs overall record now stands at 19-8 overall with a perfect 11-0 mark in LSC play. WT will have a chance to make history Oct. 28th against Tarleton State at Wisdom Gym in Stephenville, Texas. With a win the Lady Buffs will set a new NCAA Division II record for longest conference winning streak. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
